In BenHur, a war lord from the east stirs up trouble for Messala, a Roman tribune. He is now on the run to prove his innocence after being unjustly accused of treason. The film exemplifies this theme of justice through the actions of Ben Hur’s love interest Esther. Esther tries to help him be saved even though she may have just condemned him to death by revealing his identity to the Romans.
